August is a very special month for me, after all you're only born once right? Anyways within a few months the lovely and highly anticipated Christmas holidays will be on us. How's your gift list going? If I'm being honest I haven't even started a gift list but I've been doing my research. Christmas gift shopping is often times hectic and stressful. The prices for some items often sky rocket and many of us would rather give the gift of hugs on Christmas day.

Christmas is truly a special time of the year and at times we lose sight of what it really represents. If you're a Christian, Christmas represents the birth of Christ and is time of remembrance and gratitude for the Lord sending his son to die on a cross for us. For others, Christmas represents a season of giving and sharing; hence why it is such a popular time for gifting.

Here are some gifts that you can give that will not cost you a penny.

1. Spending time with those you love.-

Every Christmas my family comes together for three major dinner events. The time that we spent together is always filled with laughs and cheers.

2. Preparing a delicious meal for your partner.-

I've heard this quite a few times-the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Prepare a nice meal for that special someone and show them just how much you love them.

3. Write a love letter.-

This might sound a bit old fashioned but a good love letter will always get the job done. If you want to spend less on gifts this Christmas, writing your partner a love letter might the solution to your problem.

4. DIY Christmas Card-

How creative are you? One amazing gift idea for the Christmas holidays is a gift card. It quick, cost-effective and meaningful. So get out your paper, glue some old magazines and create.
