Health and Wellness- 5 Ways To Jump-start a Healthy Lifestyle

Life is amazing when you feel great on the inside and look good on the outside. Think of all the things you miss out on when you're feeling sick or unwell. Everything feels like a drag, and you have no energy to do anything fun or life-changing. The journey to Health and Wellness is not an easy one, it requires dedication and will power! Making a few changes daily will, overtime, erase your bad habits and create new ones that will transform your life positively.


Now, I'm no health and wellness coach, but I am incorporating a few healthy tips and tricks into my daily life, that will align me with my goals. The math is quite simple, if we make consistent positive adjustments in our lives, we are more likely to experience long term and favorable changes. Do not be fooled by the extreme overnight changes that are advertised on a daily basis. These drastic changes are often times unsustainable, and they might do more harm than good. With that being said, here are 5 simple tips that you can use to maintain a healthy life:


1. Drink water


If you were anything like me growing up, water was not your favorite thing. But it's one of the most important things that you need every day for good health. Drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning combats dehydration, and it flushes toxins from your body. You will feel refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to take on the day, try it! On the upside, if plain water is still a stretch for you, you can always add a lemon to it (this also makes for a refreshing, healthy drink).

2. Take care of your mental health


Your mental health is very important! Whenever you are depressed, stressed or anxious, your health is compromised. Try to focus on the positives, get adequate sleep and meditate. 3. Make time for a daily walk


A daily walk is a great way to kick-start your Health and Wellness journey ( It will get you into the habit of exercising regularly). Exercise has a positive impact on our bodies (it might even add a few years to our lives!) Daily walks, especially in nature also offer relaxation and perspective.

4. Include more vegetable and fruits in your diet.


Your diet plays a major role in jump-starting a healthy lifestyle. Vegetables and fruits have a ton of properties that promote Health and Wellness. I'm not saying you should drop all the foods you love to eat, but you can surely enhance your dinner plate by adding some veggies. Develop healthy eating habits and watch your body transform.


5. Reduce your sugar intake


Consuming less sugary foods and drinks will give your health an instant boost. Sugary foods convert to fats in our body and contribute to unhealthy weight gain. They confuse the brain (you always feel hungry) and eventually slow down our metabolism. Starting by switching out a sugary drink with lemon water for a healthier option today!

Our health is really an important part of our overall well-being. Here are some early warning signs that you can use to detect health issues.
