Juice Fasting- Can it help You To Lose Weight?

A few days ago I came up with what I thought was a brilliant and somewhat original idea. Sooner than later however I came to my senses and realized that it was something that I saw online and it has been around for quite some time. What's this mystery thing that I am referring to? It's juice fasting! According to Medical News Today a juice fast or a juice cleanse is a type of diet that involves consuming only juices from vegetables and fruits in an attempt to lose weight and detoxify the body.
I started 2019 with a new year's resolutions just like everyone else. I wanted to lose weight by a certain time, make a set amount of money throughout the course of the year, have certain experiences and the list simply goes on and on. I guess you tell by now that I have a pretty long list of things that I have set out to achieve. In a previous post I shared My fitness journey with you guys but sadly I am nowhere near where I need to be. I haven't been trying any fad diets but I certainly haven't been putting in the exercise nor employing the eating habits that will get me closer to my goal body weight.
I know I mention my body weight quite often but it is with good reason. I have witnessed just how unchecked weight gain can lead to serious health problems especially in the late years of life. This has caused me to be a bit harder on myself where managing my weight is concerned. Ultimately what's the sense of knowing better if you never implement what you learn or know? Pointless right? I thought so too! Living a healthy life should be one your most important goals. I guess we could consider this a mini rant but I urge you to bear with me as you might find the information that I am providing to be quite useful.
The delays that I have brought on myself where health and wellness are concerned have pushed me to explore other options. One such option is the juice fast that I mentioned previously. I can't promise you that this will help you to reduce your body fat percentage or help you to dust off that sexy outfit that you've been hiding in the back of the closet but it doesn't hurt to try. I've been trying to muster up the courgae to take on a juice fast but I am still in limbo. I do hope that this article will not only help you to try it out, but help me as well.
Here are the associated benefits of juice fasting on your life:
1. Given that juice fasts generally involve the juice from fruits and vegetables, it is expected that they will help to flush harmful toxins from the body- Fruits and vegetables are often said to detox or cleanse the body so it is anticipated that these benefits will be amplified on a juice fast.
2. Fruits and vegetables are really high in certain vitamins and minerals. As a result, a juice fast is expected to provide the body with much needed nutrients to boost the body's overall performance and resistance towards certain diseases and illnesses.
3. It is said that juice fasts help the body's digestive system. Fruits and vegetables are known for adding great value to the body. The enzymes present in them work to improve the stomach or gut region breaking down certain foods and improving or even speeding up the digestion process.
4. WEIGHT LOSS- Now this is the big one and honestly the major reason for this article. I saw in my studies that juice fasting helps with weight loss. The reason behind this is quite simple. If you're on a strict juice diet your body will have to work on your fat stores to produce energy because you are not consuming enough calories on a daily basis.
