Visme- Why Content Creators Are Loving This New Tool!

Updated: Jun 13, 2019

Every blogger or content creator out there has probably heard of Canva. Canva as we know it, is a very popular tool that allows you to create beautiful Social Media posts, presentations, and a host of other designs. Until very recently, Canva was the only design tool that I knew about until I was formally introduced to Visme.

What is Visme?

"Visme is an easy-to-use online tool allowing anyone to communicate visually through amazing infographics and presentations and other forms of visual content for non-designers. You can publish your projects online, make them private, embed them to a site or download for offline use. Visme has been in development for over 5 years and undergone continual upgrades and refinements." Visme is also used for other forms of content such as anything from Flyers, to Scatter Plots, and Social Media Graphics.

About Visme

  • According to Visme, their latest release is based on reviews and feedback from over 1.2 million users from over 90 countries.

  • Versatile, easy to use but yet powerful and used by content creators at different levels across the globe. - Fortune 500 such as IBM - Start-ups - Education and non-profit institutions

  • When compared to other tools Visme is the only one that allows you to create various forms of content as simple graphics but with series of interactive features to bring static content to live such as: - Ability to animate any object and assign actions (ex. Links, pop-ups, rollovers) - Add video or audio - Embed content from third parties (ex. Maps, polls, forms, etc..) - Set your own templates and brand guidelines - Ability to track traffic and engagement of your content (full analytics) - Create your own library of slides and content, and media library.

Visme vs Canva

Visme is very similar to Canva in terms of the way it functions. You can create stunning images that are ready to be shared on social media, in email campaigns and presentations on both platforms. Nevertheless there are some distinct differences between them. If you would like a more detailed comparison on Visme vs Canva you can check out this article.

Here is a list of items that you can create using Visme:

1. Presentations

2. Infographics

3. Documents

4. Printables (such as Flyers)

5. Web Graphics

6. Social Graphics

7. Custom Designs

8. Graphs and Charts

9. Scatter Plots

You can find a breakdown of what is offered by Visme here.

Here are two of the items that I recently created for personal use on my blog.

Infographics

Creating eye-catching infographics that will grab your target market's attention.

2. Email Cover

Build more leads from your email marketing with stunning email cover images.

If you are beginner in creating any of the aforementioned items, there are tons of tutorials available on the website to get you started. Given that I already had a history with other platforms I opted out of some of the tutorials but I was still able to find my way around Visme with only minor difficulties. I would suggest that you watch the tutorials on the site before you create any projects to eliminate any confusion. You can also catch their Live weekly webinar for additional information on how to create designs that will grow your business.

Getting started with Visme is quite simple as it offers a free plan, with a very simple registration process. If you want to test out what Visme has to offer I suggest starting out with this plan first. On the free plan, you will be able to create a maximum of five projects, you will have 100 MB of storage, access to a limited number of templates, the ability download images in JPG format and ability create some charts. The best part is your free plan does not end so you can use it for as long as you want and upgrade later on to access more projects. The pricing after you upgrade is solely dependent on whether you register as one of these three categories:

1. Individual

2. Business

3. Educator

You can find more detailed information on Visme's plans and pricing here.

Why Visme from the design perspective

  • It does more than just create one type of content. It’s the multi-tool of visual content: Great for both Infographics and Presentations.

  • Requires no coding or design experience

  • It’s intuitive and easy-to-use yet balanced, with a range of features and flexibility to personalize content.

  • It gives you a great starting point to create presentations.

  • It’s fully HTML5-based, so content is both web and mobile friendly.

  • It allows users to download content in all popular formats: Web URL, Image, PDF, and HTML5 formats.

  • It allows users to add interactivity and animation to any object.

  • Ability to attach music / audio to your project and record own audio within Visme.

Overall I have found that Visme is very easy to use and it removes the headache that normally comes with creating aesthetically appealing infographics and presentations. Furthermore the price point is also great, especially if you're just starting out as a new blogger or starting a new business. The decision is ultimately in your hands when it comes on to deciding if Visme is suited for your business model. I would love to hear your thoughts on this, so feel free to leave a message in the comment section.
